Some MRT-related news, and if you use Jalan Bukit Bintang regularly, you’ll want to take note. MRT Corp says that to facilitate construction works for the KL Mass Rapid Transit system, a stretch of the road, between Jalan Bukit Bintang/Jalan Sultan Ismail junction and Jalan Bulan 1, off Jalan Bukit Bintang, will be realigned for 16 months, beginning from October 15.
The temporary realignment is necessary for the construction of the MRT Bukit Bintang station. The works will not result in any lane reductions, as three lanes will be maintained at the work area.
Safety barriers, hoardings and traffic cones will be installed at the work site to ensure road users and pedestrians are pre-warned of on-going works, and an Emergency Response Team (ERT) is on standby 24 hours a day in the area, ensuring immediate response in case a motor accident occurs.
The ERT is equipped with the proper equipment to deal with road accidents, and will act as a temporary response team while the proper authorities are called in to address the situation.
